Tito with the Yugoslav Youth
This is the crap I found inside
I was watching a documentary on Mobutu Sese Seko the other day. He and Marshal Tito of Yugoslavia had lots in common. They were buddies. Both were self appointed presidents for life, loved fine clothes and both ordained themselves “marshals” — the highest military rank known to man.
The wealth surrounding Mobutu, the fine white suits Josip Broz Tito wore, the palatial residences of Ceausescu, the material excesses of Kim Jong Il got me thinking that as much as these fine leaders of free men were (are) attracted to finer things in life there is more to it.
All these nations headed by dictators were typically jumpstarted straight from feudalism or colonial rule into something resembling socialism. The display of the leader’s wealth was partially a coping mechanism self demonstrating the existence of affluence in otherwise poor societies. We may be poor ourselves but overall the country must be wealthy since the president has just landed in his gold riveted jet plane. Really, a president who loves his people will not sleep under a tent because that’s detrimental to the followers’ self esteem.
Tito new all this well. He paraded around with international celebrities in crisp white suits while holding a Cuban cigar. He had cars, yachts, villas and the best dental work in the country. He had meaningless titles like “marshal” and absurd military uniforms to match. And he did all this for you and me.
This double album is called “Tito, Youth, Revolution.” It contains speeches and articles by Tito read by actors. Several poems are interspersed throughout to lighten the heavy load. The liner notes were written by Azem Vlasi, an Albanian-Yugoslav politician.
Tito invested a lot of time speaking and cultivating the young followers. I’d assume that the speeches address the youth of Yugoslavia. I can not verify this at the moment because the original records were replaced by cheap-ass substitutes by some punk. One of the sleeve pockets holds a “Bitola, moj roden kraj” a Macedonian folk music record. The other pocket is stuffed with a super-scratched record of Aprilke “Songs About Women People’s Heroes: Follow Their Ideals.” While this record may be worth something in its own right the scratches are trench deep and give me a heartburn just looking at it.
For a definitive Tito website go to Titoville.com.

This here is one of the best comments we received lately. Most comments we get are from Canadian boner med peddlers. This one is different. It provides a good counter argument to this post. Gotta love the blog dialectic. Here you go:
By all means pubilsh both my name and email when I tell you the following:
You are a piece of malicious, rotten, and pathetic human garbage. I don’t know if’you’re of Yugoslavian origin or not, but it does not even matter.
This disgusting, and insulting garbage you have written is only indicative of your bitter, uninformed, and let me repeat – malicious – nature.
First of all, if you are not of Yugoslav origins, then you have absolutely no right to talk about Josip Broz Tito because any kind of “knowledge” you claim to possess either came from Western academics and politicians, men and women who never firsthand experience Titoism, or from Ustasha/Chetnik fascist emigrants, who infested North and South America and the minds of the ruling elites there.
The most outrageous and blasphemous portion is where you call his title of Marshall “meaningless”. Since you are an ignorant, uneducated, bigot, let me educate you on the full meaning of his title “Marshal”.
Marshall is a military rank above that of general. It is the rank of supreme commanders of armies. And Josip Broz Tito earned that title from the people he let against Nazism, in the greatest uprising in the world during World War 2.
I assume an ignoramus such as yourself has never even heard of the Yugoslav Anti-Fascist War so here are the figures: Yugoslavia was a country of 17,000,000. And of that 1,700,000 died. 10% of the population, which is a demographic tragedy, and a greater loss than the combined losses of U.S.A., Canada, Britain, France, and the entire British Empire.
Josip Broz Tito organized an uprising of the Yugoslav peoples, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia, with the primary goal of liberating the country, establishing a federal, democratic, republic, abolishing a Serbian oppressive monarchy, and giving an equal and free society to all. And I can attest to this because I grew up in this society. It did not matter what nationality or religion we were, we could practice whichever faith we wanted and freely intermarry. In my own immediate family, I have 3 religions: Orthodox Christianity, Islam, and Catholicism. And that was possible because of Tito’s policy of Brotherhood and Unity. Much alike the American “E Pluribus Unum” (Out of Many – One).
He became Marshal because he lead the greatest uprising in the world against fascism and WON. And he is the only Allied commander to be WOUNDED on the field of battle. Battle of Sutjeska, in June 1943.
Therefore his rank of Marshal was paid for in blood, and given to him by HIS PEOPLE, the YUGOSLAV PEOPLE, Bosnians, Serbs, Albanians, Croatians, Macedonians, Slovenians, Montenegrins, Gypsies, Jews, and others. They gave him that rank and called him “Marshall Tito” even before he was officially made Marshall. Just like Diana Spencer was Princess Diana, the “People’s Princess”, so too was Tito the Marshall of the People.
So who the hell do you think you are to challenge that? To challenge 1,700,000 lives which fell for the freedom of Yugoslavia of the Nazi yoke? The challenge the rivers of blood that flowed from the butchered bodies of our sons and daughters, who charged Hitler’s hordes and refused to bow down and surrender? Who the hell do you think you are?
My great-grandma was interned in the Nazi death camp Auschwitz and survived, because she was part of Tito’s resistance movement. I should add that she was a practicing Catholic, and no one in the Communist Party of Yugoslavia ever required that she denonuce her religious. She was Tito’s spy in the Gestapo headquarters in the city of Banja Luka. She was arrested by the Gestapo and sent to Aushwitz. Thanks to God, she survived. To the end of her life, if Tito came on television, she would sit with tears in her eyes and say “Here is the man who gave us freedom and peace, bread, and unity, brotherhood and security.”
So who the hell are you to challenge an Aushwitz survivor?
My other great uncle was also Tito’s spy against the Gestapo. He died in Dachau death camp.
So once again, who the hell are you to talk?
And the comment on Tito’s white suits and cigars and cars is idiotic. Tell me something? Does the American president roll around in busted Ford, or a limousine? Does the American president wear stuff from Wall Mart, or custom made suits of the finest materials?
So it is alright for leaders of powerful rich countries to parade around like kings. But it is not alright for a hero of the people, the statesman with the biggest funeral in history (a fact), to look good?
You are an uninformed, bitter, jealous, and pathetic little human being.
Go get an education, read some books, and use the internet to create something good, instead of spreading idiotic propaganda.
